Ah ha. It’s him. The ever elusive and devious Phantom Load. He’s been on the Most Wasteful Wanted List for years. The majority of the world knew this covert character wasn’t dead yet but just in hiding and that he might have faked his own death. He is after all a very slippery character and of course was born with no spine, which has allowed him to lurk and hide in the most unpredictable of places. Although many have tried to photograph or reach out to touch him, he has managed ever so snidely to escape all attempts. Rumor has it that he has been felt haunting Outlet Stores across the North Eastern part of the United States of late and that he has caused a nasty pandemic that has spread rapidly, predominantly through cell phone power cords. Beware and take care.

What’s he so scared of? It looks like he’s seen a ghost, or something worse…
There was once a monster named Mr. Prings
who’s biggest love of all was collecting things.
He started small, with stamps and kazoos,
but eventually needed a room just for his shoes.
But Prings wasn’t the nicest of guys,
and when a neighbor came over for a few supplies
(like a screwdriver or wrench – of each he had ten),
he’d scream “I never want to see you again!”
Yes, he horded his goodies – kept himself in such a box,
chained up all of his goodies with different keys and locks.
That way, nobody would ever make the mistake
of taking on of his red pens or rakes.
But even though he was so careful with his things,
treating them all like they were diamond rings,
he forgot to pay attention to what’s most imporant of all,
the person you are – short, fat or tall.
Now, when you forget who you are – wouldn’t you know,
the most amazing thing happens: you lose your own shadow!
Not to worry dear readers, it only happened to Prings
because he forgot about people, cared more about things.
So every day he sits with his mountain of stufuf
and mutters to himself “It just isn’t enough…”
Because while you can have five TVs and a car,
you’ll never be happy, unless you know who you are.
Why is it that everything I write has a moral? I don’t get it. :/
Happy late Christmas/Chanukah/Kwanza to all you guys!

Excellent work, Karen. But let’s, with all the malfeasance, not forget that he also does a mean Electric Slide. :^D

Oooh! That’s a GOOD one, Rose!
I like it! He loses his own shadow in his lust for the material?
    Very, very nice!!! Thank you!
