WEEKLY MONSTER 117

Good morning. It’s Wednesday, and it’s time for a new Weekly Monster. Please say Hello to No.117:

I’m getting ready for my presentation at the AIGA Conference in Denver on Friday (11am–12.15pm), so I have to keep this post short. I still owe you a gallery of drawings for Open Source Monster 20 I already received some great creatures, but if you’d like to get in on the action, too, you have a few extra days to download OPEN SOURCE INK BLOT 20, print it out, and have some fun with it.

In the meantime, I’d love to hear what you think of No.117:

Postyourstoryhere

Of course, you can record some sounds (or words) as well, using the widget to the right. No doubt there are those among you called to be voice over or foley artists. I can’t wait to read, see, and hear what you come up with!

See you in Denver, or back here next week! In the meantime, you can count on the fact that 344 LOVES YOU

“There once was a bird, a mighty flyer,
But all his friends called him Pidgeon McGuire.
One day he perched on an electric wire,
And that was the end of Pidgeon McGuire.”
Wow, I haven’t been around in a while! But don’t worry, I’m still keeping up with all of the monsters. I just had to post on this one because that is one of my favorite poems. It’s actually from this alphabet book that I had when I was little, and this one was for the letter M.

Sidney, arriving all decked out in his best and most decorative feathers, eagerly hopped on the wire to perform his most difficult and death defying act, to date; one he had been working on for weeks, when suddenly he realized that he had arrived four days late to wish this good host a Very Merry Happy Birthday!

He is the raven of the revolution. He is on line for the change. (The Pigs are in charge here.)
    Pacify! Pacify!
He is a cliché crochet of loyal thread. His Sugarcandy Mountain is sweet and tasty, but he is the sucker of God. He carries the animals across the sea. He is the monster of Moses, the bird of prey. The raven of Heaven, the speaker of Tomorrow.
Trust me and love me and know what I say.
The raven is the connection, the conduit, the marriage. He is the Pig’s pamphlet. He holds the future in his wings, and he carries the Comrades to
    revolution.
