DETOUR: THE LEGO LYNDA LOGO

PreviousNext

Good morning. Boy, I am so behind in posting right now, what with the release party for my new book coming up. But as I just got such a lovely shout-out on the Lynda.com blog yesterday, I thought I’d show you this little project I did on the side — just to keep the recursive links going.

In honor of my friend Lynda’s recent birthday I decided to render her company logo in Lego. Why Lego? Because A. her husband (and logo designer) Bruce is a big Lego geek, and B. because I haven’t had a chance to fiddle with big bags of Lego in… oh… 25 years? What more reason do you need? I don’t know, but what more reason do I need? None. None more reason.

So without further ado, the Lego Lynda logo:

Business in front, Death Star in the back:

Here’s the side-by-side-by-side comparison, courtesy of Bruce:

As always, there’s much more to come, but that’s it for tonight! I hope you’re clear on the fact that 344 LOVES YOU

Stefan, Love your work! How so I subscribe to your blog? Would like to sign up to get it by email or, if necessary, RSS but I see neither. Thanks!

Thank you for the compliment, Emerson. Unfortunately, I don't have such
fancy options. I used to have an RSS feed enabled, I think. Let's see… is
    this is? http://feeds.feedburner.com/StefanGBuchersDailyMonster
You can also follow me on Facebook or on TypePad or on Twitter, where I'm
@stefangbucher, but Facebook is probably the easiest.

Good job on finding the link for the RSS feed. I signed up to have you on my Google home page.
I currently blog on Typepad too. My memory is that adding the widget for the email subscription was very easy. Here is the knowledge base article if you want to do it. http://help.sixapart.com/tp/us/email_subscriptions.html I find that most people sign up for the emails – far more than for the RSS feed.
I’m not a luddite by any means but I am not a big follower of anything where I have to go to a website – just get too easily distracted.
    Thanks again!

Thank you for the link! I think I did it. It's all pretty deeply nested. :^D
